No kickbacks. Meridian Health does not accept payment from pharmacy partners in exchange for prescription routing. Pharmacy partners are selected based solely on NABP verification, patient coverage, integration capability, and quality metrics. Meridian does not direct providers to prescribe specific medications. All prescribing decisions are made independently by licensed providers.

Compounding policy. Meridian does not route prescriptions to unlicensed or non-NABP-verified compounding pharmacies. All partner pharmacies dispensing GLP-1 medications must hold valid state compounding licenses where applicable and maintain FDA-registered facility status.

Important Safety Information (ISI) — GLP-1 Receptor Agonists

GLP-1 receptor agonists (semaglutide, tirzepatide, liraglutide) are FDA-approved prescription medications. They are not appropriate for everyone. Do not use if you or a family member have a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Serious risks include: pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, kidney problems, hypoglycemia (in patients using insulin or insulin secretagogues), heart rate increase, suicidal ideation and behavior, and serious allergic reactions. Tell your provider about all medications you take and all medical conditions.

The most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, and stomach pain. These are usually mild and decrease over time.

Not for use in patients with type 1 diabetes. If you experience severe abdominal pain, stop the medication and seek immediate medical attention. For full prescribing information, consult your Meridian Health provider.
